Greetings Firefly Fans! This week, Firefly Art celebrated the precipitation in the air by using special sparkle and transparent paper to make these super snow globes!
To make these snowy baubles, our Firefly Artists used templates to cut circular pieces of special sparkle paper and glued them into place in their winter landscapes. We next colored snowmen in on small sheets of transparent paper. Transparent, we learned, is a word for clear or special see-through paper that allows light to pass through it. After these had been glued into place, our artists completed the scene with snowflakes, trees, scarves, and musical snowman friends!
This wintry landscape allowed us to learn about warm and cool colors. Cool colors like blues, greens, and purples help create a subdued or cool feeling in visual art, whereas warm colors like reds, oranges and yellows create a feeling of vibrancy and brightness. We think you'll agree that our firefly Artists took this lesson to heart in coloring their pictures with all the spectacular shades of the rainbow.
